Families in Adams County City of Aurora served by DP Early Intervention will transition to North Metro Community Services starting July 1, 2024

As of July 1, 2024, the Developmental Pathways (DP) Early Intervention program will no longer serve children living in the Adams County portion of Aurora.

Why is this transition happening?
This change comes as a result of the most recent request for proposals (RFP) bid/solicitation process conducted by the Colorado Department of Early Childhood. Developmental Pathways has been awarded the contract to provide Early Intervention services for region 6, covering Arapahoe, Douglas, and Elbert counties. North Metro Community Services has been awarded the contract to provide Early Intervention services for region 14, which covers all of Adams County, including the portion within the City of Aurora. The transition from Developmental Pathways to North Metro Community Services (NMCS) for children living in this area will occur on July 1, 2024.

How will this transition work?
Planning for this transition has already begun to ensure a seamless process and continuity of care for these children and their families. North Metro Community Services has been the provider of Early Intervention services in Adams County for many decades and has the expertise and experience to ensure the continued delivery of services.

An NMCS Early Intervention team member will contact families in advance of the July 1 transition date. The Colorado Early Intervention Care Navigation team will be responding to the referrals for children living in the Adams County portion of Aurora beginning July 1, 2024. North Metro will conduct evaluations, provide service coordination, and arrange direct services for those families as of that date.

Lastly, current Early Intervention service provider(s) may also contract with NMCS, and we will work closely with these providers and make every effort to ensure no disruption in services.
