Denver Metro Specialized Education Support for Parents: The Critical Link Between Vision & Learning

Does your child have 20/20 eyesight and yet gets tired reading? Does your child have difficulty judging space, tripping/bumping into things often? Does your child have academic inconsistency? These are just some of the symptoms that may indicate that you child has an issue with his/her visual system. Come join us as Dr. Amy Elsila and Dr. Alexandria Wiss, developmental optometrists from Hellerstein & Brenner Vision Center, help us
• Learn about the critical links between vision, learning, and success in school.
• Learn about the effects of vision as our dominant sense as research estimates that 70% to 80% of our perception, learning, cognition, and activities are mediated through vision.
• Gain a better understanding of how vision therapy works.
• Learn about who can benefit from vision therapy including children and adults with:
o Vision/visual perceptual concerns
o Tracking and eye-hand coordination difficulties
o Crossed/lazy eye (strabismus/amblyopia)
o Visual discomfort when reading or using the computer
