DP’s Community Advisory Committee

Developmental Pathways is committed to robust client and community engagement with the goal of improving disability services on behalf of people with disabilities in Arapahoe, Douglas, and Elbert Counties.

What is a Community Advisory Committee?

An advisory committee is typically a volunteer advisory group of appointed community members.
These committees are not decision-making bodies. Instead, they provide public input, guidance, and recommendations to help improve support outcomes in the community.

Developmental Pathways (DP) is currently establishing the Community Advisory Committee (CAC). We extend our gratitude to the interim CAC members’ valuable contributions in 2024.

Their insights helped shape the long-term structure of the CAC, guided community engagement efforts, and established committee processes. The efforts of these individuals, detailed in the report below, will have a lasting impact. Thank you to all the interim CAC committee members for their dedication:

Christy Blakely
Kelley Durrant
Mikayla Florian
Alik Kassner
Julie Lacz

Shellene Martinez
Yvette Plummer
Lauren Showers
Mona Vyas

The final DP CAC will consist of nine to eleven members, each serving two- to three-year terms beginning in January 2025. Committee members will collaborate with a diverse group of community members and provide recommendations for the direction of Developmental Pathways’ efforts.

The committee will meet every other month, both online and in-person, with a focus on:

  • Providing a meaningful platform for sharing information with the community
  • Elevating community voices and perspectives
  • Identifying community support priorities
  • Suggesting improvements and making recommendations related to Long-Term Care Case Management Agency (CMA) and local programming
  • Reviewing and supporting our complaint process, including holding space for public comment during meetings
