Alliance Honors Representative Kim Ransom
“At a ceremony located at Developmental Pathways, the Community Centered Board for Douglas and Arapahoe counties, Alliance presented Representative Kim Ransom with the 2019 Waitlist Advocate Award. This honor is awarded exclusively to those who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to ending the decades-long waiting list for services for Coloradans with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).”
In a budget year mired with difficult decisions, we are extremely grateful for Representative Ransom’s advocacy on the Joint Budget Committee to not only protect services for people with I/DD, but to also reduce the number of vulnerable families who have waited years for the comprehensive supports they need. We are also grateful for her support of a 1% provider rate increase in the 2019-2020 state budget. Thank you, Representative Ransom, for your dedication to Coloradans with I/DD and the community providers who are honored to serve them.
A Douglas County resident for 32-year and the hometown voice at the State Capitol, Representative Ransom currently serves as a member of two committees: Local Government and Health, Insurance & Environment. She has proven highly effective at reaching across the aisle to achieve broad bipartisan support for her policy solutions.
Alliance is a nonprofit, statewide association of Community Centered Boards (CCBs) and Program Approved Service Agencies (PASAs) that is dedicated to strengthening services and supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
Congratulations, Representative Ransom!
