Every March, we celebrate Developmental Disability (DD) Awareness Month. DD Awareness Month is an opportunity to promote respect for people with developmental disabilities, build inclusion within the community, and to educate others on the many abilities of people with DD.
Did you know that orange is the official color of DD Awareness month? This year, championed by the Community Outreach department, Developmental Pathways collaborated with community partners to “go orange” and host events dedicated to raising awareness. Our goal is to celebrate and improve the lives of those with developmental disabilities.
The events scheduled for the second half of the month were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we got behind #DoingMyPartCO, promoting awareness online and distributing swag bags and promotional items to our partners.
Thank you to all who planned events, distributed promo items, and raised awareness about developmental disabilities. With our deepest gratitude, thank you to all who make our local communities more accessible and inclusive for people of all abilities.
We would love to see our community go orange in March 2021! #ChooseToInclude #COIDD #DDAwarenessMonth
