The Fourth of July is a great time to celebrate with family and friends, but it is a holiday that can be isolating for our sensitive community members because fireworks can be challenging! The Autism Community Store is a safe, inclusive space for our community to participate in the sensory magic of this day.
We will have fun activities, hot dogs off the grill (gluten Free options available) and refreshments. Join us for a hot dog, bring a picnic, or just come to see the fireworks!
We have a great view of the City of Aurora fireworks display and will reserve an area behind the store for our families to view the fireworks. Fireworks can be seen through the windows of our Community Room or from the lawn and parking lot outside. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for the grass or parking lot. The Sensory Cave will be open for anyone who needs a break, and noise-canceling headphones will be available.
