Conflict-free & Committed to Choice in Providers

Developmental Pathways (DP) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and delays (I/DD) and their families from birth through the end of life. We are a bridge. Our team of experts helps people navigate the disability system and explain options, available funding, and community resources. We passionately believe inclusion is for everyone and offer services through Home and Community Based Medicaid Waiver programs, locally funded programs, and partnerships with other community organizations.

DP is one of Colorado’s 20 Community Centered Boards (CCB) and currently designated in Colorado Statute as a Case Management Agency (CMA) in the long-term services and supports (LTSS) system for individuals with I/DD. We also support local Early Intervention programming for babies and toddlers experiencing developmental delays.

CCBs/CMAs across the state serve populations based on regions, called Catchment Areas. DP offers services for people living in Arapahoe, Douglas, and Elbert counties and the city of Aurora, though we do not currently provide any Early Intervention supports in Elbert County.

Conflict-free and committed to ensuring choice in providers

Effective July 1, 2022, DP fully separated from Continuum of Colorado, a Medicaid-approved provider agency (PASA). Prior to July 1, DP and Continuum shared an executive team through a service agreement but were overseen by separate boards of directors.

This separation completes DP’s efforts for full compliance with the federal and state laws related to conflict-free case management (CFCM) and highlights our continued commitment to providing conflict-free long-term case management for those with disabilities in our community.

In our catchment area, individuals and families have the choice of more than 400 providers approved for various Home and Community Based Services (HCBS). Case Managers will continually work with individuals and families to ensure they have a choice of qualified providers.

In action, this looks like:

  • Choice of available long-term care programs and services
  • Available resources outlining qualified providers
  • The right to choose from a list of qualified providers
  • The right to change providers at any time
  • Access to DP’s complaint and/or grievance processes

While providers have the right to accept or deny requests for services, we are dedicated to helping individuals and families find the best supports for their needs and goals.
