💚 Autism Community Store — Therapy Dog Meet and Greet

The Alliance of Therapy Dogs will be bringing some of their furry friends to the store for a meet and greet session!
No appointments necessary – drop in, pet some dogs and ask the owners any questions you may have about them!
People of all ages can benefit from the soothing and non-judgmental presence of these gentle creatures. Studies show interacting with therapy dogs can have a variety of benefits for autistic children and adults, including:
- Encouraging communication
- Increasing feelings of emotional wellbeing
- Increasing engagement
- Desensitizing fears
The Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD) is an international registry of certified therapy dog teams that provides testing, certification, registration, support, and insurance for members who volunteer with their dogs in animal-assisted activities. Teams provide therapy in many settings, including airports, nursing homes and other care facilities, on college campuses and even in patients’ homes. We are grateful to the dedicated volunteers making the Autism Community Store a regular destination with their adorable pups!
